Silver Run Electric Transmission Line
New Castle County, Delaware
Hunter Research worked closely with a utility company to fulfill Section 106 requirements imposed by a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit. This involved facilitating consultation with the Delaware State Historic Preservation Office concerning archaeology and the visual effects of the power transmission line. We prepared 3D digital models to illustrate the impact of the power line on the setting of nearby and distant historic properties. We also worked closely with the client and the agencies on the development of mitigation stipulations that involved archaeological avoidance and monitoring, as well as an innovative Delaware program to acknowledge historic farms that have been in the same family for more than 100 years.
