Ocean City Historic District Architectural Survey
Ocean City, Cape May County, New Jersey
In 2017-18, Hunter Research surveyed over 500 buildings in the Ocean City Historic District, Ocean City, Cape May County, New Jersey as a response to damage caused by Hurricane Sandy. Deliverables included individual survey forms, a technical report and GIS mapping. The team recommended revisions to the historic district boundaries and an updated list of contributing resources to reflect post-Sandy conditions. The technical report included recommendations for how to elevate and flood-proof historic buildings in ways that would be compatible with and preserve the historic district’s character.
