Levine Reservoir Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) Documentation
City of Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey
Levine Reservoir in the City of Paterson, Passaic County, New Jersey, is a late 19th-century water-supply reservoir located within the Great Falls of Paterson/Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures Historic District. Hunter Research assisted the Passaic Valley Water Commission (PVWC) with fulfilling its responsibilities under the New Jersey Register of Historic Places Act to mitigate modifications to upgrade the reservoir for public health and safety. HAER documentation consisted of background research, preparation of a historic narrative, large-format photography and reproduction of historic plans for inclusion in the permanent HAER collection housed in the Library of Congress. Hunter Research worked closely with PVWC to ensure that all historical materials being reproduced would not compromise the safety or security of the facility.
